Viva Las Vegas

How Jim Trudeau Built a Community and is Leaving a Legacy Around March Madness

My Christmas is near! We are six weeks from the opening tip off of my favorite sporting event of the year…March Madness in Las Vegas. Yes, you can watch March Madness from anywhere but you haven’t really watched until you’ve spent the opening week in Vegas. Even those that don’t have the passion for college basketball can’t help but love the madness. We even have a Madness Eve party the night before we are consumed with four days of nothing but basketball.

This isn’t a podcast about basketball, it’s about how my friend Jim Trudeau has built a community of over 18,500 people on facebook. Basketball is the vehicle but the group is so much more. When there was no tournament in 2020 and when restrictions were still in place in 2021, I felt the significance of what coming together one time a year with this group means to me and I vow not to miss another opening week in Vegas if it can be helped.

If you don’t know much about Vegas, but want to go reach out to me. I actually think planning trips to Las Vegas for people is my greatest strength and I should make that my career! You don’t have to drink in Vegas and you don’t have to gamble. I actually enjoy Vegas way more sober than I did in my drinking days.

Outside of March Madness, Sunday is a great day of sports. You have the Phoenix Open and the Super Bowl. If you don’t care about sports, you get a Grammy award winning talent at halftime!

Thank you to those that hopped on the Live Sunday, it was a blast! We will zoom on Sunday, February 16th at 1:00 pm cst so make sure you subscribe to receive the link. I will go Live from Las Vegas during March Madness this year!

Journal Prompt:

How do you want to be remembered after you’re gone?

Where and how are you building your legacy?

If you haven’t ever thought about writing your own obituary, I highly encourage the practice. It might sound morbid, but don’t you want to be the author of your own story? Don’t leave it up to someone else to decide the metrics around how you lived, make it known! If you would be interested in attending a webinar on this process drop a note in the comments or send me a message.
